Who We Are
The Nevada Health Care Coalition (NHCC) is a tax-exempt Nevada nonprofit corporation dedicated to improving health care quality and providing cost-effective health care solutions. To enable health provider contracting and health care purchasing programs, NHCC supports a subsidiary Nevada nonprofit corporation, Nevada Health Partners (NHP).
Our Mission
The Nevada Health Care Coalition is a partnership between public and private sectors formed to provide improved quality and more cost-effective health care for the mutual benefit of employers, employees and families, and the community at large - serving as a positive role model for our community.
Our Objectives
As a collective of northern Nevada employers, we strive to reach our mission with the following objectives:
- By promoting the best health care standards, quality and services.
- By cooperatively identifying problem areas and actively seeking-out solutions.
- By developing outcomes measurement data and sharing relative information with our members.
- By promoting healthy lifestyles to improve overall wellness of its members, their families, and the community.
- By exploring innovative health care alternatives.
Patient-Centered Medical Home Conference
On December 1, 2009 the Nevada Health Care Coalition and Nevada Academy of Family Physicians co-hosted an informational dinner meeting between local area employers and local family physicians to explore the development of a Patient-Centered Medical Home Collaborative in northern Nevada.
Our speakers were Edwina Rodgers, Executive Director, Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, Washington, D.C. and Julie Schilz, BSN, MBA, Manager, Colorado Multi-Stakeholder Patient-Centered Medical Home Pilot.
At the conclusion of the conference, approximately 40 guests indicated a desire to participate in a Patient Centered Medical Home Work Group in northern Nevada.
